10 Questions with a staff member: Mr. Burns


         1.What current trends are baffling you? Why?

Not exactly current, but I can’t stop thinking that we are living in a simulation. The theory was made popular by Elon Musk, and it just seems to make logical sense that we are all living in a simulation. However, logical it seems, it’s still hard to believe….what do I do?


         2.Which Hogwarts house would you be in?



          3.What is your favorite quote?

“ There isn’t anyone you couldn’t love once you’ve heard their story.”


        4.What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?



    5.If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Antarctica, there just seems to be so much mystery and conspiracy theories surrounding that place. I would love to know the truth.


        6.What’s your favorite emoji and why?

       It encompasses everything. That nothing makes sense, but better to just be happy about it . (:



        7.Are there any embarrassing teaching moments you’re willing to share? What are they?

I once split my pants which revealed my undergarments, so I wore a lab coat the whole day.


         8.What kind of student were you in highschool?

  Zombie…walked to every class like a Zombie, felt like I was constantly wasting my time. Loved socializing with friends and playing sports, but it’s hard to imagine learning anything.


          9.Did you ever see yourself becoming a teacher when you were in high school?

Yes! Schools are ridiculously inefficient and impractical. My dream was to be a teacher that could do something about this.


        10.Is there anything specific you wish you could teach but can’t/don’t have room in the curriculum for?

I would absolutely love to teach Philosophy! My favorite subject in college and I just love to think all the time. Nothing better in life than to talk with someone else about life.


         11.What was your first job?

    Sunoco, Pumping gas


         12.If you won the lottery what would you do?

Start working on plans for creating a private school.

Montclair, Physics and Education


        14.Did you play sports in high school? If so, which one(s)?

Soccer, track, and volleyball


       15.Have you ever had a job outside of being a teacher? If, what was it?

I love being a teacher, but my favorite job was being a youth pastor. I loved enriching kids lives emotionally, socially, and relationally. However, religion is a complex practice that I struggled with.
