The CHS Winter Concerts

The start of the school year is almost always hectic and overwhelming. For the CHS Music Department, this is doubly true. The band, choir, and orchestra must prepare full concerts in under four months. While this may sound like more than enough time, consider the caliber of musicianship in this school and the difficulty of the pieces being performed. A prime example of this is the honors choir. The MadCaps will be debuting a completely original piece, commissioned by Mr. Pinto. On top of this, the students typically only have 44 minutes each day to prepare. Subtract from that figure the time it takes to set up their instruments and tune or warm up their voices, and the amount of time goes down even further. In short, it is crucial to our excellent music program that students support their peers. The winter concerts are always a delight, with each ensemble combining the holiday classics with nontraditional pieces. Listed below are the dates of each holiday concert. Attendance is not only crucial to supporting the music department and the students, but to expanding your tastes through an undoubtedly impressive and entertaining performance.
