CSU Takes Action, #MarchForOurLives

Nada Awadalla, Staff Writer

The tragedies of the past school shootings, along with the recent shooting in Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida has sparked outrage within the American public. Students have had enough of watching from the sidelines and are taking the issue into their own hands.

Gun violence, the safety of schools, and the lack of action from the government has stormed social media, the news, and our hallways. Clifton Student Council and students of CHS have planned a march on March 8th, 2018 the same day as International Women’s Day. It is to take place after school, on Colfax Avenue to City Hall. Police officers will be present and the road will be closed off for the safety of all participants.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to create signs to express their sentiments on the topic. For more information, CSU meets every Tuesday after school in room S217 ,and like American author Jordan Belfort once said: “ Without action, the best intentions in the world are nothing more than that intentions.”
