There has been a lot of buzz about the new Apple product, the iPhone X.  It is filled with a ton of new features making it not your ordinary iPhone.  One of the biggest changes that the new phone will have is Face ID.  Instead of using a password or fingerprint to unlock your phone, your phone will now scan your face.  This is a drastic change in Apple’s phone products and will surely open thr door to many questions.  For example, what if Face ID won’t recognize your face because you get beat up, you get plastic surgery, or your face ages?  Or even worse, what if you have an evil twin that is able to unlock your phone and completely ruin your social life(dun dun dun)???

Well, fear no longer! Apple has stated that the face scan builds a 3D model of your face which takes all your facial features into account while scanning,  so the chances of face ID not happening for you are pretty slim.  However, this new feature may cause some inconvenience for everyone.  If you’re in school, work or some cautionary state, it’s a lot easier to  simply press your thumb on a button to unlock your phone rather than have to hold your phone a certain way to have your face scanned.  Also, Face ID only allows one face to be scanned and saved.  This means you can’t add other faces such as friends or significant others to unlock your phone as opposed to Touch ID saving multiple fingerprints.  Touch ID can seem more reliable at times, but it is remarkable how technology has come so far as to be able to scan and remember faces.  The iPhone X goes on sale October 27th starting out at $999, happy face scanning!
